An effort to add
to the Lord’s words as contained in the book of Revelation amounts to that person seeking to be wiser than the Author of the book. To his expression of superiority, the Lord will add
the plagues contained in the book. The latter addition will ultimately break such a false prophet (see also Numbers 31:8 regarding Balaam).
18 I warn everyone who hears the words of the prophecy of this book: if anyone adds to them, God will add to him the plagues described in this book,
