How does a man redeem the tithe from the land?

Leviticus 27:31 (ESV)

31 If a man wishes to redeem some of his tithe, he shall add a fifth to it.

A tithe of produce may be redeemed by its original owner. However, the original owner must pay an additional 20% above the valued price to the sanctuary.
