When will the hired worker be freed?

Leviticus 25:40 (ESV)

40 he shall be with you as a hired worker and as a sojourner. He shall serve with you until the year of the jubilee.

The bondservant is only free in the year of Jubilee (49 years). Exodus 21:2, however, states that the bondservant is only required to work for six years. The difference in timing may be due to the extent of one’s debts.
