What is the theological motive for the care of bondservants?
Leviticus 25:42 (ESV)
42For they are my servants, whom I brought out of the land of Egypt; they shall not be sold as slaves.
Leviticus 25:42 articulates the reason behind the care of the bondservants. They are the Lord’s servants. He is the one who redeemed them from slavery in Egypt, therefore only he is their true master.
