The Lord provides two more examples of those who may not eat of the holy food. First, no foreign guest
(tôšāḇ) may eat of the food. This term refers to someone who is a sojourner, but is dependent on another person’s goodwill. He is financially dependent on the priest and may even live with him. Secondly, a hired servant
(sāḵîr) may not partake of the holy food.
