1. Leviticus 21:22 (ESV)
  2. Exposition

What restrictions are placed on the priest who bears such physical defects?

Leviticus 21:22 (ESV)

22 He may eat the bread of his God, both of the most holy and of the holy things,

A priest with a physical defect may not officiate in the temple. However, he is not entirely cut off from the priesthood. He is still allowed to eat of the donations given for support of the priesthood (see Leviticus 2:3; Leviticus 6:16; Leviticus 7:6). This includes both the holy food and the most holy food (see Leviticus 10:12, Leviticus 10:17).
