1. Leviticus 22:12–13 (ESV)
  2. Exposition

What is the context of verse 12-13?

Leviticus 22:12–13 (ESV)

12 If a priest’s daughter marries a layman, she shall not eat of the contribution of the holy things.

The context of these two verses considers the position of a priest’s daughter. As long as she is under the headship of her father, she experiences the privileges of being a part of the family. As such, she may eat of the holy food. If, however, she marries someone outside of the priesthood, she may not eat of the contribution.
