17 “I will show you; hear me, and what I have seen I will declare

Eliphaz did not give ear to Job’s claims of innocence. However, he insists that Job must listen to him. Eliphaz is obviously proud of his own wisdom, which explains why he had taken offence when Job had challenged that wisdom.
