1. Jeremiah 8:4–6 (ESV)
  2. Exposition

How does Jeremiah point out the incomprehensibleness of the unrepentance of God’s people?

Jeremiah 8:4–6 (ESV)

4 “You shall say to them, Thus says the LORD: When men fall, do they not rise again? If one turns away, does he not return?

He uses a few examples for this. 1. If you fall, you obviously try to get up again. 2. If you go the wrong way, you turn around and find the right one. But God’s people do not do this. They just continue on their way, and they do not return to the Lord. They tell themselves that all is well and that they know the right way. Like wild horses, they continue to run in the wrong direction. There is no return.
