What was the grape harvest usually marked by?

Judges 9:27 (ESV)

27 And they went out into the field and gathered the grapes from their vineyards and trod them and held a festival; and they went into the house of their god and ate and drank and reviled Abimelech.

The grape harvest was often a naturally joyous time, a time for festivals, which were often marked by drunkenness. In this case the harvesters gathered in Baal-berith’s temple.
