Commentary on 1 Corinthians 1:27 (Summary)

1 Corinthians 1:27 (ESV)

27 But God chose what is foolish in the world to shame the wise; God chose what is weak in the world to shame the strong;

In 1 Corinthians 1:27–28, Paul contrasts the three types of people (of 1 Corinthians 1:26) with those whom God has called. God has shamed the wise by calling those whom the world considers foolish. He has shamed the powerful by calling those whom the world considers weak.
