Calling refers to God’s effective work in bringing some who hear the gospel to saving faith (1 Corinthians 1:22–28; Romans 8:30). Those whom God has chosen are called to faith through the proclamation of the gospel (2 Thessalonians 2:13–14).1 To be called by the grace of Christ is thus to be chosen to eternal life (Acts 13:48) and come to faith in Christ when you hear the good news about him.
