Ezra 1 and the Trinity

Ezra 1:1–11 (ESV)

1 In the first year of Cyrus king of Persia, that the word of the LORD by the mouth of Jeremiah might be fulfilled, the LORD stirred up the spirit of Cyrus king of Persia, so that he made a proclamation throughout all his kingdom and also put it in writing:

What does Ezra 1 reveal about who God the Father is?

God the Father is shown to be in control of this world. He is the Lord who reigns over all nations. All creatures, all nations, all people are so completely in his hand that without his will they cannot so much as move. No matter how important an individual might be, he is under God’s control. No one is independent of God. God the Father is also shown to be faithful. The promises that God has made are promises that God will keep.
