What did the servant literally say Eglon was doing?
Judges 3:24 (ESV)
24When he had gone, the servants came, and when they saw that the doors of the roof chamber were locked, they thought, “Surely he is relieving himself in the closet of the cool chamber.”
When they say, “Surely he is relieving himself,” it literally says, “covering his feet.” This expression is used in 1 Samuel 24:3 to refer to bowel movements.
