4 Among those who know me I mention Rahab and Babylon; behold, Philistia and Tyre, with Cush “This one was born there,” they say.

Composed of Ethiopia, Sudan, and Somalia, Cush was an empire that at one time, together with Egypt, was the object of Israel’s misplaced hope (Isaiah 20:5).1
