What does forgetting the LORD involve?

Judges 3:7 (ESV)

7 And the people of Israel did what was evil in the sight of the LORD. They forgot the LORD their God and served the Baals and the Asheroth.

This involves a “neglect of his covenant demands, ingratitude for his blessings, and a self-sufficient attitude. This in turn opens the door to idolatry. (See Deuteronomy 6:10–12; Deuteronomy 8:10–20; Deuteronomy 32:15–18.)"1
