Commentary on Esther 4:9 (Summary)

Esther 4:9 (ESV)

9 And Hathach went and told Esther what Mordecai had said.

The author does not tell us of Esther’s feelings at hearing the terrible report. As readers we are left to imagine her shock and dismay, and perhaps her anger at hearing of Haman’s bribe (a fact that Mordecai clearly thought important for her to know).
