The pronoun I
is a reference to Nehemiah himself. Nehemiah had just used the term brothers
to refer to the entire Jewish community, so the addition of the pronoun my
must mean that now Nehemiah uses the term to refer to his family. The additional phrase my servants
refers to his staff (see on Nehemiah 4:16). That Nehemiah was a man of considerable means will be made amply evident in the next paragraph (Nehemiah 5:18).
10 Moreover, I and my brothers and my servants are lending them money and grain. Let us abandon this exacting of interest.
