The blind man's cries annoy the bystanders. They want him to stop shouting. This reaction betrays their lack of understanding of the plight of the blind man. But the blind man cannot be stopped. He realizes that now there is a chance to receive true help. If there is one who can help him, it is Jesus. Therefore, full of expectation, he cries out with even greater force: Son of David, have mercy on me!
39 And those who were in front rebuked him, telling him to be silent. But he cried out all the more, “Son of David, have mercy on me!”
