The destroyer is coming upon the whole land; every city, every valley, every plain will be destroyed. No place will escape; no refuge will be found. The destroyer refers to the invading forces of the Babylonians. But it is the Lord who has spoken of this destruction. Ultimately, he is the destroyer of Moab.
8 The destroyer shall come upon every city, and no city shall escape; the valley shall perish, and the plain shall be destroyed, as the LORD has spoken.
