If you are a mere human, it makes no sense to give commands to a corpse. Christ Jesus, however, had already made very clear in his self-revelation in chapter 1 that he is God (Revelation 1:12–20). With words of command, the Lord God in the beginning had called into being that which did not exist (Hebrews 11:3). During his time on earth Jesus Christ had instructed dead Lazarus to come out of the grave, and the dead man obeyed (John 11:43–44).
