Once again, Jesus confirms that he will answer their prayer. This additional assurance is certainly not redundant, given the immense task the disciples are given. Fortunately, it becomes clear how deeply involved Jesus remains in the work of his disciples. He will grant them strength and wisdom in response to their prayers to accomplish this great task. This should also encourage us in our mission to be witnesses of the gospel. After all, the words Jesus spoke just before his ascension to the Father concern us too, And behold, I am with you always, to the end of the age
(Matthew 28:20b).
