These very words of Jesus to his disciples underscore that they will not be alone in their great task in the wider world. They may know that Jesus will answer their prayer for strength and wisdom. After all, they will be continuing the work of their Master. And in all of this, the greatness of both the Son and the Father will be revealed (see John 13:31–32; John 17:4).
13 Whatever you ask in my name, this I will do, that the Father may be glorified in the Son.
