The chapter divides itself according to these sub-units:
Isaiah 50:1–3, the Lord’s message about the weary exiles’ lack of understanding
Isaiah 50:4–9, the obedient Servant’s soliloquy about his awakened ear for understanding
Isaiah 50:10–11, the Lord’s call to respond to the Servant word with trust in the Lord.
1 Thus says the LORD: “Where is your mother’s certificate of divorce, with which I sent her away? Or which of my creditors is it to whom I have sold you? Behold, for your iniquities you were sold, and for your transgressions your mother was sent away.
