1. Psalm 17:15 (ESV)
  2. Exposition

What is it about the Lord that David will be satisfied with?

Psalm 17:15 (ESV)

15 As for me, I shall behold your face in righteousness; when I awake, I shall be satisfied with your likeness.

David says, I shall behold your face…. I shall be satisfied with your likeness. His soul was athirst for God; he was oriented toward him. He knew that nothing would give him satisfaction quite like gazing upon the shining countenance of his God. And so he lived for more than the satisfaction that is found in enjoying God’s good gifts, like a quiver full of children, without knowing God himself. David sought satisfaction that can only be found in seeing the Lord face-to-face.1
