Whose righteousness is in view here?

The first words of this verse are, I, in righteousness, I will see your face. That presents some ambiguity as to whose righteousness David is referring to: will he see God’s face in his (David’s) own righteousness, which would be supported by his words in Psalm 17:2–3? Or will he see God's face in God's righteousness, which might be suggested by your likeness, the parallel of righteousness in the second half of the verse? It is possible that David is purposefully ambiguous because he has both possibilities in view. But one of the two is more prominent. Whichever one that is depends on how we answer another question related to this verse, namely, whether David is referring to being satisfied with God’s likeness in this life or afterward.
