The fact that Uzzah died beside the ark simply identifies the location of his death. He was next to the ark when he died. The fate of Uzzah brings to mind the deaths of Nadab and Abihu (Leviticus 10:1–2), Achan (Joshua 7:1–26), and Ananias and Sapphira (Acts 5:1–11)—all of whom failed to take the Lord’s rule and holiness seriously.1
7 And the anger of the LORD was kindled against Uzzah, and God struck him down there because of his error, and he died there beside the ark of God.
