Dedicating the articles to the Lord means that David kept them for use in worship, specifically the construction of the temple. It is likely that the Levites were assigned the task of looking after this wealth (Numbers 4:4).1 This act of David is a recognition on his part that the battle victories which he had enjoyed had come as a result of the Lord's favour and thus the Lord is the one who rightly deserves the spoil.2
