9 God do so to Abner and more also, if I do not accomplish for David what the LORD has sworn to him,

Dan and Beersheba are two towns in Israel. Dan is located in the far north and Beersheba in the far south. In essence, the reference to these two towns is a reference to all the land occupied by Israel.1
