James is most probably the brother of Jesus (Mark 6:3) who surfaces in Acts 15:13–21 and Acts 21:18 as a leading figure in the Jerusalem church (see Galatians 2:9, Galatians 2:12).1 He was a witness of Jesus’ resurrection (1 Corinthians 15:7) and recognised as an apostle by Paul (Galatians 1:19).2
