Who was James?

Galatians 1:19 (ESV)

19 But I saw none of the other apostles except James the Lord’s brother.

James was one of Jesus’ brothers (Mark 6:3). He became a prominent leader in the Jerusalem church (Acts 12:17; Acts 15:13–21; Acts 21:18–25; Galatians 2:9, Galatians 2:12). He was also a witness of Jesus’ resurrection (1 Corinthians 15:7).
