Where did Peter meet Cornelius?

Acts 10:27 (ESV)

27 And as he talked with him, he went in and found many persons gathered.

It appears as if Peter met Cornelius outside his house. This would be where he was first received and where Cornelius also fell down before his feet. From here, they journeyed towards the house eventually entering it. While they are moving towards the house, Peter and Cornelius talk with each other.
