Why does Saul not eat or drink anything?

Acts 9:9 (ESV)

9 And for three days he was without sight, and neither ate nor drank.

Saul has had an encounter with the resurrected Christ. He is shaken and humbled by the encounter and spends time in deep reflection on what he has learned.1 His whole understanding of who God is has been changed.
