  2. Exposition

What does God promise in Exodus 6:6-8?

Exodus 6:6–8 (ESV)

6 Say therefore to the people of Israel, ‘I am the LORD, and I will bring you out from under the burdens of the Egyptians, and I will deliver you from slavery to them, and I will redeem you with an outstretched arm and with great acts of judgment.

In Exodus 6:6–8, God promises two things: liberation from slavery, and entry into the promised land. And he will fulfill these: he will liberate his people from slavery, making them into his treasured possession (Exodus 19:5), and lead them to the promised land.
