37 And because he loved your fathers and chose their offspring after them and brought you out of Egypt with his own presence, by his great power,

The Lord chose his people out of love, and his choice made itself known in his power to liberate them from slavery, to deliver them from powerful enemies, and to give them possession of the Promised Land.
