The puzzle in Jeremiah 12:14d is how the Lord will pluck up the house of Judah from among them.
The prophesy sees Judah being plucked up from among the nations as they are being plucked up. It seems unlikely, therefore, that this is referring to Judah’s exile which would have already happened before the other nations experienced the Lord’s judgment. The meaning may therefore be that the Lord will bring his people back from their various places of exile when he pours out judgment on the other nations.1 This meaning is supported by the promise of restoration for Judah that follows in Jeremiah 12:15.
14 Thus says the LORD concerning all my evil neighbors who touch the heritage that I have given my people Israel to inherit: “Behold, I will pluck them up from their land, and I will pluck up the house of Judah from among them.
