Commentary on Job 23:17 (Summary)

Job 23:17 (ESV)

17 yet I am not silenced because of the darkness, nor because thick darkness covers my face.

Job’s fear does not silence him. He continues to wrestle with God, even though he finds God’s counsel mysterious and dark. This once again proves that Satan was wrong in his assessment of Job. Job refuses to let go of God, despite the pain that he has suffered under God’s hand.
