How was the value of the land determined?

Leviticus 27:23 (ESV)

23 then the priest shall calculate the amount of the valuation for it up to the year of jubilee, and the man shall give the valuation on that day as a holy gift to the LORD.

The land’s value was determined by the priest. Upon evaluation, the worshipper was required to redeem the land immediately by paying its valuation in silver to the sanctuary.
