1 Therefore we must pay much closer attention to what we have heard, lest we drift away from it.

What we have heard does not refer to the chain of Scripture quotations in 1:5–14 (Strobel1) nor the preceding Scripture text of Psalms 94—110 (H. Windisch) or Exodus 19—20 (Bensel, 2562).3
