Witchcraft was popular amongst pagans with its promise to provide some form of control or knowledge in an otherwise unpredictable life.1 However, it was out of bounds for God’s people (Deuteronomy 18:9–14), something we must stay away from. In this instance, the Galatians are said to have been bewitched. They did not get involved with magic, but they behaved as if someone had clouded their minds. Unwittingly they came under the influence of the false teachers2 and so they failed to see the difference that faith in Christ ought to have made for their Christian living.3
