Scripture does not give further details about Peter’s visit to Antioch. The date was most likely after his miraculous deliverance from prison (Acts 12:17) and before the Jerusalem Council (Acts 15:1–35). At the time of his visit, Syrian Antioch was the third largest city of the Roman Empire, with a population of nearly 250,000 of which the Jews may have been around 25,000.1
