The connection of Revelation 22:1–5 to Revelation 22:6–21

1Then the angel showed me the river of the water of life, bright as crystal, flowing from the throne of God and of the Lamb
With his depiction of the glories of God’s holy city, the New Jerusalem, complete, the stage is set for the Lord’s final assurance to John that he is returning soon (Revelation 22:6–7), and so the New Jerusalem be completed.
