The present paragraph is the second of four fragments of the vision John received concerning the New Jerusalem. Revelation 21:9–14 had set before us the protection God grants to those within this city. The present paragraph, Revelation 21:15–21, shows us something of the glory and perfection of this most holy city.
15 And the one who spoke with me had a measuring rod of gold to measure the city and its gates and walls.
