As John in the present scene sees increased detail over the first scene, we can expect the third paragraph to provide further detail still. As it turns out, the third vignette relates what John missed in the city: its global attraction (Revelation 21:22–27). What follows, Revelation 22:1–5, provides us with a sense of the life of the city.
