Why did Samson go to Gaza?

Judges 16:1 (ESV)

1 Samson went to Gaza, and there he saw a prostitute, and he went in to her.

We are not told. Was it officially, as Israel’s judge, or for personal reasons? We do not know. But he did not go there with the express intention of visiting a prostitute. He went, and (while there) he saw a prostitute.
