Where was the town of Ziklag?

1 Samuel 27:6 (ESV)

6 So that day Achish gave him Ziklag. Therefore Ziklag has belonged to the kings of Judah to this day.

The location of Ziklag is disputed, though it was most certainly to the south of Gath. It is listed among the Judahite cities in Joshua 15:31. It was part of the Negeb province and, on account of Judah’s size, assigned to the territory of Simeon (see Joshua 19:5, Joshua 19:9).
