Commentary on Job 15:31 (Summary)

Job 15:31 (ESV)

31 Let him not trust in emptiness, deceiving himself, for emptiness will be his payment.

The wicked trust in their own strength and in their worthless riches. In this they are deceived and will soon be disappointed. This warning is valid, but it is directed to the wrong person. Job knew better than anyone not to put his trust in wealth (see Job 1:21).
