1. Leviticus 14:20–21 (ESV)
  2. Exposition

How does Leviticus 14 apply to the New Testament believer?

Leviticus 14:20–21 (ESV)

20 And the priest shall offer the burnt offering and the grain offering on the altar. Thus the priest shall make atonement for him, and he shall be clean.

While Christians are not bound to the ceremonial rituals laid out in these verses, they can apply the principle found herein. Whenever a Christian is healed and restored to the full participation of life and worship, it is appropriate to praise the Lord for such restoration. While death looms over all creation as a result of original sin, physical restoration from sickness is a foretaste of a glorious future when Christians will be set free from all physical diseases and distress when the curse is lifted. All this was made possible through the shed blood of Christ.
