God’s choice in revealing himself to Moses in the tent of meeting, that is, the place appointed by God to meet with Moses, demonstrates the seriousness of God’s commitment to his promises and his faithfulness to Israel (see Exodus 33:12–17). Furthermore, it demonstrates that God reveals himself solely on his own terms in accordance with his own free will, not that of man. This fact therefore illustrates the holiness of God.
