What is the leg that was set aside for Saul?

1 Samuel 9:23–24 (ESV)

23 And Samuel said to the cook, “Bring the portion I gave you, of which I said to you, ‘Put it aside.’”

As a sign of his special future status, Saul received a special cut of meat.1 Most likely it was a share of the sacrifice normally reserved for priests (see Leviticus 7:33).2
